The aggressor country has begun handing over the bodies of Ukrainian defenders killed in Azovstal, reports the Associated Press, citing former Azov commander Maxim Zhorin.

Dozens of bodies were taken from the territory of the bombed-out plant and brought to Kyiv. DNA analysis is currently underway to identify the remains.

The brother of one of the defenders, who went missing during the steelworks' defence, said that at least two trucks with bodies arrived at the military hospital of the Ukrainian capital for identification.

On June 2, Ukraine and russia exchanged the bodies of the dead servicemen on the frontline in the Zaporizhya region. Each side swapped 160 remains.
