There are no bans on women traveling abroad from October 1. The profile committee of the parliament is finalizing the draft law "On Amendments to Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service".

The Ministry of Defence has already sent its proposals to this draft law, which stipulates that the registration of women in the military is only voluntary, Deputy Minister Hanna Malyar said on Facebook.

"At the same time, realizing that the legislative process is lengthy, the Ministry of Defenсe, simultaneously, within the limits of its authority, prepared an order, which once again postponed the deadlines for taking women of relevant professions/specialties for military registration for another year - until October 1, 2023. The corresponding order was signed yesterday, on 6 September, by Minister of Defence Oleksiy Reznikov," she said.

The norm on the mandatory registration of women of the relevant professions/specialties for military registration is regulated namely by law. The order does not change the norms of the current legislation but will allow the parliament to finalize and amend the laws to resolve this issue.

"As stated by the General Staff, the experience of deploying all military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations in full wartime states shows that today there is no urgent need in the state to increase the number of women in the military register," Malyar added.
