A military operation is currently underway on the Kinburn Spit in Mykolayiv Region.

This military operation requires information silence, Natalya Humenyuk, a spokeswoman for the Operational Command South, told the telethon, 24 Kanal reports.

It should be noted that this territory is also important amid talks about the possible participation of the Mykolayiv port in the grain deal. For the "grain corridor" to work safely, there should be no Russian occupiers there.

"We continue our combat work. As soon as there is a result, we will report on it," she said.

Humenyuk noted that now the geography of the area allows Russians to bring reserves from the temporarily occupied territory. However, the Kinburn Spit is surrounded by water, which makes it difficult for the Russians to shore up.

According to her, this region "is not so strong to withstand a large accumulation of troops". The weather is also on the side of Ukrainian troops.

"At this time, it is usually very stormy there. And it is impossible to even just stay in place. Very strong winds, storms, even nature washes and drains the enemy from this land," Humenyuk said.
