Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu is intensifying the conflict with the Wagner PMC. He deliberately does not mention their participation in hostilities, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate has said.
It noted that, according to Russian propaganda outlets, Shoigu declared his alleged full control over Soledar, Donetsk Region, at the meeting. He emphasized that this was the result of the actions of the Russian regular army. At the same time, Shoigu deliberately did not mention the participation of Wagner mercenaries in the fighting.
"This information is being hushed up by Russian propaganda media, which indicates the continuation of the conflict among Russia's military and political leadership," the MID said in a statement.
