Ukrainian border guards shot down a Russian attack aircraft in the sky over Bakhmut, the press service of the State Border Guard Service reports.
The enemy attack aircraft was covering from the air the infantry advancing on the Ukrainian defence line.
"A border guard opened fire from an anti-aircraft gun and shot down a Russian combat aircraft. Preliminary, it was a Su-25. The plane caught fire and crashed after being hit by a missile. The fate of the pilot is currently unknown," the statement said.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, this is the 295th enemy aircraft destroyed.
