Oleksiy Khabatyuk, an energy expert and deputy head of the energy efficiency department at Naftogaz, was killed in Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, former Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Kobolyev has said on Facebook.
The information was later confirmed by Khabatyuk's family.
According to his daughter Yuliya, her father, who was a member of the Defence Forces, was killed by a piece of debris during a mission in Bakhmut on 4 May.
The funeral will be held in Kyiv.
According to Ekonomichna Pravda, Oleksiy Khabatyuk worked in renewable energy and at the State Agency for Environmental Investments. He also headed the Environmental Investment Fund. He was deputy head of the energy efficiency department at Naftogaz in 2016-2021.
He became a sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in May 2022.
