Ukrainian defenders are advancing south of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya Region, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing reinforced Russian defence lines, the spokesman for the joint press centre of the Tavriya Defence Forces, Oleksandr Shtupun, has told the news telethon.

"Despite the rather difficult combat conditions, our troops advanced in the areas of Urozhayne and Robotyne. They are currently advancing in the direction of Novoprokopivka near Robotyne and in the direction of Mala Tokmachka - Ocheretuvate," he added.

According to him, the Russians are suffering losses in the southern sector and are forced to redeploy troops from other parts of the frontline.

"They are losing up to 100 people irretrievably every day, and there are also wounded and prisoners. Last night they lost a total of 305 people. And they are trying to patch it up, but it's a mess," said Shtupun.

Novoprokopivka village is located near the watershed of the Kinska and Molochna rivers, 25 km from Tokmak.
