On the night of 27 August, the Kursk airfield was attacked by the Security Service of Ukraine's (SBU) military counterintelligence.

According to LB.ua's sources, the kamikaze drones targeted four Su-30 and one MIG-29 aircraft. Among the targets hit were S-300 radars and two Pantsir anti-aircraft systems.

Almost all of the SBU drones reached their targets, and according to preliminary information, only three of them were shot down by Russian air defence. Judging by the fact that even the Russians themselves recorded at least 13 explosions, the hits were impressive.

The exact consequences of the damage and the number of dead and wounded are to become clear in the near future. The attack is said to have been carried out by military counterintelligence officers from the SBU's 13th Main Directorate.
