On the night of 18 January, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 33 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area and Kursk Region of the Russian Federation, and also fired two S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from Belgorod Region at Kharkiv Region. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"The main areas of attack are south and north. The Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine destroyed 22 Russian UAVs. Several more drones did not reach their targets," the statement said.

Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups, as well as electronic warfare equipment, were involved in repelling the air attack.

 Air defences were operating within Sumy, Mykolayiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Kirovohrad and Khmelnytskyy Regions.
