Russians conduct air strike at Zaporizhzhya, wounding 21 civilians

As of 7:00 a.m., 13 residential buildings, two educational institutions, and five vehicles were damaged.

On the night of 22 September, at around 23:00, Russian troops carried out airstrikes on the territory of Zaporizhzhya and Zaporizhzhya district. As a result of the attack, people were injured. Among the injured is a 15-year-old boy.

This was reported by the Zaporizhzhya RMA and the State Emergency Service.

As of 13:16, there are 21 victims. Women aged 23 and 94 with mine-blast injuries remain in hospitals. Their condition is average, the head of the regional military administration wrote on Telegram.

"Thirteen women and eight men sought medical assistance after the night attack by Russians. After examination and first aid, most of the injured will continue to be treated at home," Fedorov said. 

According to the investigation, Russian military conducted three air strikes on Zaporizhzhya and four on the territory of Zaporizhzhya district. 

"Multi-storey buildings and other civilian infrastructure of the regional centre were destroyed. Local residents' cars were destroyed. Private sector houses in one of the villages of Zaporizhzhya district were damaged," the Prosecutor General's Office said

Rescuers evacuated residents of the damaged apartment blocks. One woman was unblocked from her own apartment.

Firefighters extinguished a fire in a car and the balcony of one of the apartments over a total area of 10 square metres. Emergency work was carried out to dismantle the destroyed structures of the entrance to the apartments.

In total, 47 rescuers and 10 pieces of equipment were engaged in the firefighting operations. 

Police officers, explosive experts, volunteers of the Rapid Response Unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and other specialised services of the city were working at the site.
