On the night of 24 September 2024, the defenders of the sky detected and tracked 85 Russian air attack means.
According to the Air Force, Russia launched
- one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov Region,
- two X-59/69 guided missiles from the airspace of Bryansk Region,
- one missile (type to be determined) from Kursk Tegion,
- 81 Shahed strike UAVs from the Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
The main area of attack was the north and centre of Ukraine.
66 Russian attack UAVs were shot down in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Vinnytsya, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy and Mykolayiv Regions. Another 13 Russian drones were lost in several Regions of Ukraine as a result of active countermeasures by the Defence Forces.
