Russians attacked Ukraine with Shahed attack UAVs and unidentified drones on 22 October. A total of 60 Russian UAVs were detected in Ukrainian airspace overnight.
According to the Air Force, the areas where the drones were launched were Kursk, Yeysk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
"The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine," the Ukrainian Armed Forces commented.
It has been confirmed that 42 Russian UAVs were shot down in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kyiv, Kherson and Kharkiv Regions.
Most of the attack UAVs were shot down in Sumy Region. As a result of the attack, multiple casualties were reported.
In addition, 10 Russian drones were lost in the area. One UAV flew to Belarus, and three more flew back to Russia. One Russian drone remains in Ukrainian airspace.
