NATO has finally confirmed the presence of North Korean troops in Russia. NATO spokeswoman Farah Dahlalla confirmed in a statement to journalists that the Alliance has the relevant evidence, Politico reports.

US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin also said this. He said that it remains to be seen what exactly the Koreans are doing in Russia, but according to South Korea and Ukraine, they are preparing to fight there.

‘If they are complicit in the war, if they intend to participate in this war on behalf of Russia, this is a very, very serious problem, and it will affect not only Europe, it will also affect events in the Indo-Pacific as well,’ the Pentagon chief commented.

In a statement to the media, Dahlalla said that ‘allies have confirmed evidence of the DPRK's troop deployment in Russia. If these troops are destined to fight in Ukraine, it will mean a significant escalation of North Korea's support for Russia's illegal war and another sign of Russia's significant losses on the front line.’

‘We are actively consulting within the Alliance on this issue, and the North Atlantic Council will receive a briefing from the Republic of Korea and discuss this issue in the near future,’ the spokesperson added.

These statements are the first Western confirmation of what Ukraine has been saying for weeks: North Korea is fully engaged in war.
