The detainees face 15 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained three more Russian accomplices who collaborated with Russians in Kherson Region.

This was reported by the SBU and the National Police

One of the traitors was a resident of Kherson, an agent of Russian military intelligence who corrected Russian fire on the Ukrainian Defence Forces. To do this, the woman travelled around the community on a scooter and tried to identify the locations of Ukrainian troops involved in hostilities at the front.

Her priority targets were camouflaged headquarters, firing positions and strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The agent sent the obtained information to the Russian GRU via messenger in the form of screenshots with markings of military facilities on Google maps. In the course of the special operation, the SBU detained the traitor in her own home and took comprehensive measures to secure the positions of the Defence Forces.

Another detainee is a 60-year-old former law enforcement officer from Kherson who joined the local Russian occupation administration after the seizure of the community. There, the former mayor of the city, Oleksandr Kobets, appointed the collaborator as his "deputy for legal affairs". Among his main tasks was to prepare a pseudo-referendum on the Region's accession to the Russian Federation.

The third suspect, who was detained by the SBU jointly with the National Police in Cherkasy Region, is also a resident of Kherson, who was a member of the so-called ‘Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kherson Region’ during the occupation.

And after the de-occupation of some Ukrainian territories, the Kremlin supporter fled to Cherkasy Region to avoid punishment. During the searches, law enforcement officers found Russian methodological guidelines Political Declaration of Kherson Region "Russian Kherson", Russian state-issued documents and other evidence of her criminal actions.

SBU investigators served the detainees a notice of suspicion (in accordance with the crimes committed) under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • P. 2 Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law);
  • P. 5, 7 Art. 111-1 (collaboration).

The offenders are in custody. They face from 15 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

  • Recently, law enforcement officers detained a Russian military intelligence agent who was spying for Russia in ten Regions of Ukraine. The traitor was a 22-year-old resident of Kherson Region who posed as a military man and travelled around our country under this ‘legend’. 
  • In Donetsk Region, a pseudo-UN volunteer who was spying on the defenders of Pokrovsk was detained.
