Canada has imposed sanctions against 9 Russians involved in crimes against Ukrainians. The sanctions list includes the head of the Olenivska colony, Serhiy Yevsyukov, whose car was recently blown up.
‘Canada is imposing sanctions on the Russian government and its local accomplices in response to gross and systematic human rights violations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine,’ the Canadian Foreign Affairs Ministry said on its website.
In particular, these individuals are subject to special economic measures. In fact, it is a freeze on assets, prohibiting citizens in Canada and abroad from trading in any property owned by these individuals or providing them with financial or related services.
In addition, persons involved in gross human rights violations are banned from entering Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
