Claims that Russians occupied nearly 2 square kilometres of Sumy Region are false, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and border guards.
Major Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, dismissed the reports in a statement to LB.ua. “The information is not true. Both the relevant operational and tactical group of the Armed Forces and the border guards deny such reports,” Lykhoviy said, urging reliance on verified information from official sources and promoting information hygiene.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration also refuted the claims, labelling them as hostile disinformation. Officials confirmed that the border situation remains under control with no changes.
Earlier, analysts from DeepState reported that Russians had allegedly entered Ukrainian territory near the village of Oleksandriya in Sumy Region and advanced close to Plekhovo in Kursk Region. However, these claims have been categorically denied by Ukrainian authorities.
