The Security Service and the National Police detained another 5 arsonists who destroyed military vehicles in different regions of Ukraine on the orders of Russian special services.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the agency, all the defendants were recruited by the occupiers when they were looking for quick money on Telegram channels.

In Kyiv, two criminals aged 17 and 20 were detained in hot pursuit of setting fire to a military pickup truck that was undergoing a technical inspection after completing combat missions in Donetsk Region.

In Transcarpathian Region, law enforcement officers detained two suspects who set fire to the administrative building of a village council in Mukachevo District. The fire damaged a door and a window of the state institution.

After that, the criminals tried to burn down the generator that powers the mobile operator's base station. However, they were caught red-handed when they were about to commit a new crime.

In Poltava Region, a 16-year-old student of a local college was caught setting fire to an off-road vehicle of an Armed Forces combat brigade fighting on the eastern front.

After carrying out the arson attacks, the suspects hoped to receive money from their Russian handlers, but instead received suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪️ part 2 of Article 28, part 1 of Article 114-1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations during a special period committed by a group of persons); ▪️ part 2 of Article 194 (intentional destruction or damage to property committed by arson).

The perpetrators are in custody. They face up to 10 years in prison.
