On the night of 9 December, Russia targeted Ukraine with two guided missiles from the airspace over the Black Sea, along with 37 Shahed attack drones and other UAVs launched from Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, according to the Air Force.
As of 08:00, Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile firing groups shot down two X-59/69 guided missiles and 18 drones over Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Vinnytsya, Khmelnytskyy, Rivne, Ternopil, and Odesa Regions.
The crash of downed drones in Vinnytsya Region caused damage to infrastructure at several private enterprises.
Meanwhile, NATO foreign ministers discussed the provision of air defence systems that could be delivered to Ukraine in the near term. Ukraine had previously submitted a list of requested systems to protect its energy infrastructure.
