Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on his meeting with US President-elect Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron, calling it a “good, productive meeting” in a social media post.
“President Trump, as always, is determined. Thank you for that. I also thank President Macron for organising this meeting in Paris. We talked about our people, the situation on the battlefield and a just peace for Ukraine. We all want to end this war as soon as possible and fairly,” Zelenskyy wrote.
He added that the leaders agreed to continue working together and emphasised that “peace through strength is possible.”
Macron, in a post on the X social network, called for continued “joint efforts for peace and security.”
- The meeting between Trump, Macron, and Zelenskyy took place on 7 December at the Elysee Palace and lasted 35 minutes. The leaders were in Paris for the opening of the restored Notre Dame Cathedral.
