President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the issue of lowering the mobilisation age, a topic raised by Ukraine’s partners, in a post on X.
According to Zelenskyy, the focus should be on equipping existing brigades and training personnel rather than relying on younger soldiers to compensate for gaps in equipment and training.
“We need to prioritise reducing Russia’s military potential, not the conscription age, and saving as many lives as possible, not weapons in warehouses,” Zelenskyy stated.
He also highlighted the United States’ pivotal role in ending the war, noting: “America is capable of achieving extraordinary results that others have not been able to achieve, but this requires unity, strong positions, and guarantees of peace.”
Zelenskyy added that during his discussions with President-elect Donald Trump, he stressed that “Putin is only afraid of him and maybe China. We need to act now.”
