The Ukrainian government has approved debt restructuring measures for critical infrastructure companies affected by Russian attacks in frontline areas, aiming to ease debt pressure and ensure a stable heating season.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the criteria for debt restructuring for heat and water suppliers were established during today’s government meeting.
“An algorithm for applying for debt restructuring has also been outlined. This initiative will help reduce financial pressure on critical infrastructure companies in frontline areas, enabling a successful heating season,” Shmyhal stated.
The Prime Minister added that nearly 100% of all essential facilities, including residential buildings, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens, are now connected to heat. However, challenges remain in Kherson, which faces ongoing enemy shelling, and Kryvyy Rih, where repair and restoration work continues.
