On Monday, 24 March, the Russian army launched a missile attack on the central part of the city of Sumy. Residential buildings and an educational institution were damaged.

Update. As of 19:00, the number of people injured in the Russian missile strike in Sumy has risen to 88, including 17 children.

Update. As of 16:45, according to the health department, 74 people have been reported injured, including 13 children.

There is no gas supply in eight buildings, no hot water or heating in 18, and no cold water in six.

According to the Prosecutor's Office of Sumy Region, 65 people were injured as a result of the Russian missile strike, including 14 children.

At around 14:00, the Russian army launched a missile attack on a densely populated residential area in Sumy. A number of apartment buildings and an educational institution were damaged.

This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

‘The enemy launched a missile attack on the city centre (of Sumy - ed.). Several high-rise buildings and a school were damaged. The children were in a shelter at the time of the attack,’ said the head of the Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Artyukh. 

Rescue services are working at the site of the shelling and providing assistance to the victims. 

According to the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, the enemy attacked the residential sector and infrastructure facilities of the city, including children's hospitals.

The number of wounded is as follows: 24 adults and 4 children. All emergency services are working at the scene.
