Kobe Gakuin University became the first in Japan to join the Global Coalition for Ukrainian Studies. This was announced by First Lady Olena Zelenska on her Telegram channel.

This initiative is one of the projects she oversees and is a priority. The idea is to create Ukrainian studies programmes to study culture, language and history at leading universities around the world. "This state initiative of Ukraine to study our history, culture and language at leading universities around the world is strategically important, because the aggressor country, Russia, has for years tied Ukraine to its context and continues to spread this distorted view around the world. Now that we are defending our land, we must also defend the objective facts about us," Zelenska emphasised.

Universities in Klagenfurt, Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck have already joined the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies.
