From 7 to 12 September 2025, the 11th Days of Ukrainian Music in Warsaw will take place at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio. For over 25 years, the Pro Musica Viva Foundation has been organising the festival and introducing the Polish public to the richness of Ukrainian musical culture.
This year's programme consists of three concerts that will showcase different facets of Ukrainian music: from contemporary experiments to 17th-century works and Ukrainian song classics.
‘We want Ukrainian music to be heard on Polish stages as often as possible. That is why this year most of the works will be performed by Polish musicians,’ says Roman Rewakowicz, artistic director of the festival.

A chamber concert will take place on 7 September. The first evening will be dedicated to contemporary Ukrainian music. Works by Karmella Tsepkolenko, Zoltan Almashi, Bohdan Sehin, as well as young composers Anna Arkushyna, Marta Haladzun and Kateryna Hryvul will be performed. These are experiments with sound and instrumental techniques.
On 9 September, the festival will continue with a vocal concert. The vocal sextet ‘proMODERN’ will perform both works from the past and contemporary compositions. The programme includes 17th-century Supraśl canticles and premieres of new works by Ukrainian composers Bohdana Frolyak, Lyubov Sydorenko, Olena Ilnytska and Iryna Blokhina, commissioned by the Pro Musica Viva Foundation.
The festival will conclude on 12 September with Ukrainian songs and classical music. Singer Olha Pasichnyk, violinist Nazar Plyska, and the Capella Bydgostiensis Chamber Orchestra of the Pomeranian Philharmonic will perform works by Mykola Lysenko, Viktor Kosenko, Myroslav Skoryk, Hanna Havrylets, and Zoltan Almashi.
‘Today, when Ukraine is heroically defending its statehood and culture, our festival has a special mission — to show the beauty and power of Ukrainian music,’ adds Rewakowicz.
