The Berlin gallery Alles Moglische has opened a new exhibition by Ukrainian artist Volodymyr Budnikov, entitled The Form of Presence. The exhibition features works from the series Time of War and Globe, created by the artist during his residency at a_brüke.
The central theme of the exhibition is reflection on home, the fragility of balance, and the significance of scientific progress. The exhibition is organised as a two-layer installation. The lower layer, serving as a kind of “background”, consists of works on synthetic canvas from the Globe series (2023), which are being shown in Berlin for the first time. In the foreground is a series of graphic sheets from the Time of War series (2022–2023).
“You can see the lines of my movements and the points of my stops. However, all together it forms a simple yet complex understanding of home as a point of reference and a place where I lived and actually live,” says Budnikov.
According to gallery co-owner Eric Pawlitsky, the Alles Moglische space was created as an open venue for communication and interaction: “Our gallery is a public space that brings together not only art professionals, but also people who come out of curiosity. Our goal is to make the conversation about art open and accessible so that everyone can feel part of the dialogue. And for us, it’s another opportunity to talk about Ukraine.”
The a_brüke residency, founded by Vlada Ralko and Volodymyr Budnikov after the full-scale Russian invasion, has become a platform for artistic dialogue and reflection on life in wartime. Here, artists not only work on their own projects, but also initiate group exhibitions and dialogues with German artists. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the art association ChervoneChorne.
The exhibition will run from 16 August to 21 September 2025.
