The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, warned about Russia preparing a new information attack. It will coincide with joint exercises with Belarus, “Zapad-2025,” starting September 12, according to his remarks at the forum “Information War: From Resistance to Resilience” reported by Ukrayinska Pravda.
The purpose of these exercises in the military-political sphere is to practice maneuvers on the western front of the theater of operations. Russia expects this to send a signal primarily to European countries, especially the Baltic states.
“From September 12, there will be a simply crazy wave of information escalation. These disinformation campaigns will come from absolutely all directions. About 90% will be Russian, 10% unfortunately others. Hysteria will be fueled,” said the head of the DIU.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Baltic countries will be under information pressure, accompanied by disinformation and provocations.
