President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said relations with his American counterpart Donald Trump have improved significantly, noting a change in tone and the high productivity of the leaders’ most recent contacts.
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with American far-right blogger Laura Loomer.
According to the Ukrainian president, the turning point was their brief but historic 15-minute one-on-one meeting at the Vatican. That direct conversation without intermediaries helped ease tensions and establish a direct dialogue. After that, the heads of state held a series of positive phone calls and also met at the G7 summit in France, at NATO, and during a visit to Ankara.
“I think our relations are better now and truly good. We’ve had the last few contacts, and they were positive and very productive... The conversations have become better and have changed completely. You’re right, the tone has changed completely,” the Ukrainian president said.
Zelenskyy stressed that the partnership has moved beyond formal words of support and thanks and has shifted toward achieving concrete results. He underscored the particular importance of this constructive dialogue, because the preservation of many human lives directly depends on high-quality cooperation between the leaders.
