Russian forces continue preparations to intensify offensive operations on the Pokrovsk axis in order to advance toward Dobropillya.

This was reported by the 4th Operational Brigade Rubizh of the National Guard of Ukraine.

According to the military, the enemy is actively conducting aerial reconnaissance and is trying to clear mines from routes to enable the further advance of assault groups.

The brigade noted that the Russians plan to make active use of quad bikes and motorcycles during attacks.

“The invaders are actively conducting aerial reconnaissance and are trying to clear mines from routes to ensure the advance of assault groups using quad bikes and motorcycles. The use of this equipment will likely become one of the main methods the enemy will employ in attempts to break through our defences,” the statement said.

Despite constant assault actions, Russian troops have been unable to achieve their objectives. The brigade emphasised that Ukrainian defenders detect the Russian troops in time and destroy them while they are still approaching their positions.

According to the military, the Russia’s main goal remains an advance toward Dobropillya, but they have so far been unable to carry out this plan.

Rubizh also reported that this week the brigade’s units took part in repelling a large-scale mechanized assault by Russian forces. Together with fighters from the 1st NGU Corps Azov and adjacent units, the attack was successfully thwarted.

Ukrainian troops destroyed an armoured combat vehicle, an MTU-72 bridge-layer, and other equipment belonging to the Russian military.
