Ukraine and Italy are preparing a bilateral intergovernmental grant agreement worth €50 million.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported this.

The funds will be directed towards non-repayable assistance to purchase essential equipment in the healthcare and infrastructure sectors.

Progress on preparing the document was discussed by Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko, his deputy Olha Zykova, and the Italian Foreign Minister’s Special Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Davide La Cecilia.

The officials focused on reconstruction mechanisms through initiatives of the World Bank Group, including the Special Programme for Ukraine’s Recovery (SPUR 2.0). The meeting participants also discussed funding for the security and defence sector and further coordination to ensure the sustainable functioning of public finances.

  • In addition, Ukraine and Italy are expanding cooperation to support small farmers. Italian partners presented the TERRA programme with a budget of €105 million.
