As of today, neither the state nor the regions have sufficient capacity to accommodate at the same time all residents of the part of Kherson region under Ukrainian control who may need to be evacuated.

This was stated by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

According to him, the Ministry of Social Policy has identified places for displaced people to live in 15 regions of Ukraine. At present, around 7,000 bed spaces are available there in dormitories, municipal and social institutions.

"Today we cannot simultaneously evacuate and provide new housing for all city residents. That is why our priority is working with families with children and residents with limited mobility," Prokudin said.

He noted that the main focus at present is on evacuating the most vulnerable categories of the population.

At the same time, the issue of providing housing for all residents of Kherson region who may need to be evacuated remains problematic due to the limited number of available places for resettlement.
