The Ministry of Defence has codified BlueBird Tech’s Bebradron unmanned aerial system. The company said this in a press release.
The unmanned aerial system consists of 10 Bebradron strike drones, the Vishchun-NS3 control system, a pneumatic launch catapult, a balancing rig, a remote control unit, a mast and a set of spare parts.
“The Bebradron UAS is an integrated solution that combines unmanned aircraft with the equipment needed to operate them in field conditions. This means service personnel receive a complete, deployment-ready system rather than separate components,” the developers explained.
The company noted that the Vishchun-NS3 control system is designed to create a ground communications hub. According to the developers, it has an operating range of up to 45 km and a battery life of up to six hours.
The pneumatic catapult makes it possible to launch drones in field conditions, while the balancing rig helps prepare each aircraft for flight after its payload has been installed, the manufacturer said.
Bebradron is a fixed-wing, aircraft-type tactical UAV. It was developed in Ukraine to carry out missions at medium ranges. According to the company, the drone has a tactical radius of up to 45 km, an endurance of 30 minutes, reaches a speed of 150 km/h and can carry up to 7.5 kg of payload. Bebradron is launched from a compact pneumatic catapult manufactured by BlueBird Tech, is controlled by an operator, and transmits video and telemetry in real time. The drone has already passed codification by the Ministry of Defence.
