The Verkhovna Rada has registered a resolution on continuing the parliament’s work during air-raid alerts. Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said this on 13 October, after another break in the sitting due to a Russian drone attack.
The draft resolution will be considered once there is political consensus. Stefanchuk did not provide details.
As a reminder, this concerns MPs voting via a special app on their phones in a protected area of the Rada.
The Rada’s administration has already set up an alternative location where MPs will be able to vote in an electronic app on a phone or tablet after personal identification. This is being done to ensure the parliament’s law-making work is not paralysed by alerts. Whether this contradicts the Constitution and other laws, and why some MPs opposed the “Rada in a smartphone”, read the article on LB.ua.
