An EU leaders’ summit will take place in Brussels on 15–16 October. They will focus on economic challenges, including energy prices, the European Council reported. dpa writes that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend the summit in person.
One of the main topics will be the EU’s next seven-year budget. They will also discuss support for Ukraine, Russia’s hybrid attacks in Europe, migration issues and the situation in the Middle East.
“Ukraine remains a key priority for the EU. At the meeting, leaders will discuss further support for Ukraine, including the operational needs of its critical infrastructure ahead of winter. In the context of EU enlargement, leaders will also take stock of Ukraine’s progress on its path to EU membership,” the European Council said.
Yesterday, the Ukrainian president was on a visit to the United Kingdom. For security reasons, Ukraine rarely announces international visits in advance.
