Ukraine receives almost two-thirds of its intelligence from Europe, including France.

This was reported by France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, according to France Inter.

In Barrot’s view, the Kremlin and its network of bots on social media are deliberately spreading despair in an attempt to undermine the resolve of Ukrainians and their European allies.

The French official urged people not to give in to Russian propaganda and recalled that previous claims about Ukraine’s swift defeat or a complete US withdrawal of support have been heard far from for the first time. He stressed that Europe has long been shouldering the main burden of assistance to Kyiv.

  • Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with the Financial Times that Ukrainian military officials had received a warning from their American counterparts: “If you do not stop [strikes on energy infrastructure], we will block intelligence.”
  • Kyiv was later told the situation was due to a technical glitch. However, Zelenskyy dismissed the suggestion that disruptions to the Starlink satellite system could have been caused by a malfunction. In his words, it was “not a technical problem, but a matter of will”.
