President Volodymyr Zelensky began his visit to Brussels with a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
According to him, they discussed the intensification of Russian attacks and assistance to Ukraine with air defence systems.
“In recent days there have been several waves of ballistic strikes, and in fact strike ‘Shaheds’ have also been almost constantly in our skies. From the start of yesterday to now, the Russians have already launched almost 1,000 drones. All of this poses significant challenges, especially against the backdrop of restrictions on Starlink’s operation in Ukraine, and therefore it is very important that defence supplies from NATO partners continue. This is particularly true of ballistic interceptors and ammunition for the F-16. We are working on new air defence packages,” the head of state said.
- On the eve of this, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham assured the President of Ukraine of unwavering support and reported that deliveries of UK-made air defence systems would be accelerated.
