On the night of 16 October, starting from 18:00, Russia attacked Ukrainians with 149 attack drones. Of these, 108 were jet-powered. The enemy launched them from Oryol and the occupied cities of Donetsk and Hvardiiske.
Impacts by 27 drones were recorded at 24 locations, as well as falling debris at 14 locations. This was reported by the Air Force.
“According to preliminary data, as of 09:30, air defences shot down/suppressed 114 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type (77 of them jet-powered), Gerbera, and drones of other types,” the statement said.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy UAVs in the airspace.
- As a result of the attack in the evening and overnight, Kyiv and the Odesa, Volyn, Ternopil, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Kirovohrad regions were affected. The enemy also struck the frontline Donetsk, Sumy and Kherson regions.
