Since 30 September, Russia has been carrying out large-scale targeted attacks on the energy sector, including in the capital region. This week, the enemy attacked all three CHP plants.

In Kyiv, the heating season will begin on 16 October. As always, heat will be supplied first to educational institutions, nurseries and hospitals.

However, parts of the Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts, where an energy facility was recently significantly damaged, still cannot be connected. Restoration work there is ongoing, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

Connections to heating for social-sector institutions will take place on the basis of individual requests from their heads.

“From today, 16 October, in extreme conditions due to constant shelling, we are nevertheless starting the heating season. First, as usual, for social-sector institutions (in particular, in hospitals, schools and nurseries),” Klitschko said.
