Law enforcement officers have served notice of suspicion on a 41-year-old Kyiv resident who, on 19 October, opened fire inside the premises of a district Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRSS).
This was reported by the Kyiv police.
The suspect faces a possible sentence of life imprisonment.
Law enforcement officers said the man was taken to the enlistment office for violating mobilisation legislation. While inside the building, he produced a concealed pistol and fired at least seven aimed shots at police officers and service personnel.
As a result of the attack, three law enforcement officers and three TCRSS employees sustained gunshot wounds. All the injured were taken to hospital, with two of them in a serious condition.
Law enforcement officers detained the attacker and seized the weapon from him, which he had been keeping without the required permit. During a search of the detainee’s home, police found additional weapons and ammunition.
Investigators from the Kyiv police have served the suspect with notice of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code.
