Prosecutors are preparing documents to launch an international search, via Interpol channels, for three suspects in a construction scam in Ivano-Frankivsk.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the prosecution, the final number of victims stands at 256 investors who put more than UAH 235 million into seven residential complexes that were never finished.

On 13 October 2026, prosecutors from the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in absentia, amended the previously issued suspicions against three individuals and issued a new suspicion. They are currently preparing documents to initiate an international search for them through Interpol channels.

According to the investigation, in 2017–2022 a 46-year-old local businessman, the owner and founder of 15 construction companies, together with a relative and an acquaintance, attracted investors’ funds by selling flats and non-residential premises at the construction stage.

“At the same time, the companies did not have the necessary permits for construction work, connection to utility networks, or commissioning the facilities. A separate firm was set up for each complex, and the money received from buyers was transferred to the accounts of controlled companies, concealing the real financial situation,” the prosecution emphasised.

The agency said all three suspects are in hiding abroad. They were already placed on an international wanted list in 2023–2025. Now the prosecution is preparing materials for the publication of Interpol Red Notices, which could help establish their whereabouts, detain them and extradite them to Ukraine.

The suspects are accused of fraud on an especially large scale, committed by a group of persons acting in prior conspiracy, and of laundering criminal proceeds. The organiser is also accused of deliberate tax evasion.
