Over the past night, the Russian army terrorised the Zhytomyr region. Energy infrastructure and housing came under attack. Homes have been damaged. No one was hurt.
This was reported by the head of the Regional Military Administration Vitalii Bunechko.
“Throughout the night, the enemy continued to strike civilian infrastructure in the Zhytomyr region. Once again, energy facilities and residential buildings were targeted. Six private households were damaged. No information has been received about any fatalities or injuries,” he wrote.
As of 7am on 23 October, more than 900 settlements in the region remain disconnected from the power supply.
Critical infrastructure facilities in the region are using backup power sources, and Points of Invincibility have been set up.
Energy workers are working around the clock to restore electricity for users. The work is complicated by the constant threat of repeat strikes.
