Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the violation of the country’s airspace and placed responsibility for the incident on Russia.
In response, Chisinau will declare an employee of the Russian embassy persona non grata, Newsmaker reports.
The reaction was prompted by an unmanned aerial vehicle that crashed in the village of Kishtelnitsa in Telenesti district, 100 metres from a residential building. According to preliminary police data, no one was injured, and the area around the crash site was immediately cordoned off.
Moldova’s Foreign Ministry described the incident as a gross violation of sovereignty and a direct threat to citizens’ safety. The ministry stressed that such incidents are unacceptable and once again demonstrate the risks posed by Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.
The country’s authorities urged Moscow to cease any actions that endanger regional security and people’s lives.
