Defence Minister Yevhenii Khmara met with representatives of Ukraine’s defence industry. The participants discussed transparent operating rules for manufacturers, greater predictability in state procurement, and expanding production capacity.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence press service.
According to Khmara, defence industry enterprises need to understand the state’s requirements and future demand in order to plan production. At the same time, manufacturers are expected to make a realistic assessment of their own capabilities, pursue development, and seek new technological solutions.
“Russia is adapting quickly. We have to be faster. We have to stay one step ahead,” Yevhenii Khmara stressed.
Special attention was given to the possibility of controlled exports of Ukrainian defence products. The Ministry of Defence notes that it is first necessary to determine the volumes of weapons needed at the front and to guarantee their supply to the Defence Forces.
According to Khmara, exports should open up new markets for Ukrainian manufacturers, support the development of production, and generate resources for further investment.
He also emphasised the importance of reinvesting profits in the development of enterprises and increasing production volumes. This should help Ukraine’s defence industry respond swiftly to changing needs at the front.
