President Volodymyr Zelensky on 26 October submitted bills to the Verkhovna Rada to extend the period of martial law and general mobilisation. This is stated on the parliament’s website.

The relevant documents have been registered under numbers 16183 and 16182. MPs will be able to vote on them as early as this week, as it is a plenary week.

MPs voted on the previous extension of martial law and mobilisation on 14 July. For now, the measures remain in force until 31 October.

After the new extension, the period will be increased by a further 90 days. This will be the 21st extension of martial law and general mobilisation since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
