The Centre for Countering Disinformation debunked claims that First Lady Olena Zelenska was supposedly opening a rehabilitation centre in Israel “named after Volodymyr Zelenskyy”.
It is noted that, to create this disinformation, propagandists used graphic editing software to forge the front page of the reputable Israeli publication Haaretz dated 21 October 2026 and fabricated a “company registration certificate”.
The fact that the “registration certificate” is a forgery is indicated by its number. It begins with the digit 4, which contradicts Israel’s official standards, under which legal entity numbers must begin with the digit 5.
The fake originated from Russian Telegram channels.
This planted story is a continuation of Russia’s systematic disinformation campaign aimed at personally discrediting Ukraine’s leadership and their family members before the international community, the Centre added.
