NABU to conduct joint exercises with US SWAT

The USA intends to finance the joint exercises of its SWATs (Special Weapons Assault Team) and the officers of the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), the press service of the NABU has said in the wake of the meeting between US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt and NABU Director Artem Sytnyk.

“The ambassador informed Director Sytnyk that the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section of the Embassy (INL) will provide US Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) officers to train with the NABU's tactical officers on the execution of high-risk warrants and other tactical law-enforcement operations,” the NABU said.

“I'm very delighted that the US government, the FBI, our British and German partners support NABU in its incipience and development. Your work is very important for Ukraine. The society is waiting for results from you. We are ready to further support your work to deliver this result," the NABU quoted Pyatt as saying.

Earlier, Sytnyk said in an interview on Sonya Koshkina's Left Bank TV show that the NABU was building cooperation with the FBI.
