The operator of Ukrainian gas transportation system, Ukrtransgaz, started on 18 July the procedure for cutting Odessa Portside Plant off gas supply.
Ukrtransgaz said in a statement that OPP has not made an advance payment for gas transportation services in July and exceeded the agreed volumes of gas consumption.
The daily volume of gas consumption by OPP was about 1.5m cu m against previously agreed 0.1 m cu m.
Odessa Portside Plant is one of the largest enterprises of chemical industry of Ukraine. It produces ammonia, urea, liquid nitrogen, carbon dioxide, liquid oxygen, and sodium sulphate. It is also engaged in the overload of chemicals exports from CIS countries.
The state put up OPP for sale IPF, however, investors refused to participate in the competition.
