There has been a single-day increase of 463 coronavirus cases by the morning of 7 June, which is slightly less than a day earlier, according to the National Security and Defence Council. There have been a total of 27,462 cases, including 797 deaths and 12,195 recoveries.

Mass entertainment events will remain banned in Ukraine due to the coronavirus, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

Transcarpathian, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions no longer meet the criteria for softening the quarantine as the incidence rate went above the norm, the Health Ministry said. The list of ineligible areas has already included Volyn, Lviv, Rivne and Chernivtsi regions and the city of Kyiv.

An outbreak of the coronavirus has been registered in the Kalynka kindergarten in Brovary, Kyiv Region, with nine children and three adults testing positive.

Two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded on Sunday and one on Monday, according to the Joint Forces Operation HQ. It said in its morning update that pro-Russian militants violated the ceasefire eight times.

Deaths

Well-known army support volunteer Vitaliy Panych died of pneumonia, liver and kidney failure in a Kyiv hospital.

Radio Liberty's veteran journalist Bohdana Kostyuk, 56, dies in a Kyiv hospital.
