Five killed, five injured in missile strike on Kyiv TV tower (updated)

All of the victims were passers-by. No casualties in the TV tower.

As a result of the missile attack which Kyiv suffered about an hour ago, 5 people were killed and 5 others were injured.

This was reported to LB.ua by sources in the State Emergency Service.

Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko published photos of the victims.

"The whole civilized world, look and be terrified! An hour ago they were living people. Someone's mother, father, children," writes Gerashchenko.

Update. Later, the SES officially announced that as of 18:00, 5 people had been killed and 5 injured in the shelling of the Kyiv TV Tower in Shevchenkivskyi district. Rescue services continue their work on site.

According to the reports, at about 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, there was an explosion near the capital's TV tower near Dorohozhychi. Windows blew out in “Olivets” TV Center due to the explosion.

The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection reports that the occupants hit the broadcaster's hardware on the TV tower. None of the employees were injured.

It turned out later that there were two strikes. The occupants also attacked Babyn Yar, where thousands of victims of World War II are buried.

According to Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Russia launched a missile attack on the area where the Babyn Yar memorial complex is located. “These brutes are killing Holocaust victims for the second time," he said.

According to Yermak, when a powerful missile attack took place in the Babyn Yar memorial complex area in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky was giving an interview to CNN and Reuters.
