Ukrainian general offers life in exchange for Mariupol children's release

The ex-head of the principal office of the National Police in the Donetsk region, deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine, Gen Vyacheslav Abroskin, offered the occupants his own life in exchange for the children of Mariupol via his Facebook page

"Today, many children remain in the destroyed city. If we don't save them now, they will die in the coming days, even hours. I am appealing to the russian occupants: let us get the children out. In exchange for the still alive children, I am offering myself, " he wrote.

He is asking to be allowed to Mariupol to get the children together and organize the evacuation.

"I need three days in the city. I will turn myself in at the last checkpoint on our trip out with the children. I am the police general who was in charge of countering you in the Donetsk region between 2014 and 2018. I am on your sanctions list, on your wanted list. You've tried to assassinate me. Dozens of yours were killed, thousands of your allies were arrested with my involvement. I am probably the general with the closest ties to the legendary Azov unit," he explained.
