Ukraine has created guerrilla units in the rear of the occupying Russian troops, which include a large number of people. Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Ministry's Chief Directorate of Intelligence, warns that a "real hell" will soon come for the Russian aggressor.
Budanov told this in an interview with The Nation.
The head of the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine noted that one of the important tasks of the Ukrainian military intelligence is to organize a guerrilla movement in the enemy's rear. Refusing to give details of such a movement, Kyrylo Budanov remarked: "I will say that spring will soon come, our forests will turn green, and a real hell will open for the aggressor."
According to him, the war entered a new phase, when the Russians began shelling Ukrainian cities and avoiding ground clashes.
"The Russians are cowards because they bomb and fire our civilians, our hospitals, our theaters and our maternity hospitals," said General Budanov.
At the same time, according to him, despite the relative success of the Ukrainian military in deterring the Russians, "the situation is very difficult."
"We have large Russian troops on the territory that have surrounded the cities of Ukraine. As for the prospects for peace, contrary to the negotiations, they still remain vague and unpredictable," the head of military intelligence said.
Budanov stressed that he was not inclined to trust the Russians.
"The Russian side has never been predictable in the case of negotiations. Our country understands who we are dealing with, and we do not expect any miracles here. We are dealing with an army of criminals, robbers, mercenaries, and we are ready to fight and win," he said. .
According to Budanov, the Russian command has made many mistakes, and Ukrainian Armed Forces took advantage of them.
"The Ukrainian army has shown that the Russian army as the second army in the world is a great myth, just a medieval concentration of manpower, old methods of warfare," said the head of Ukrainian intelligence.
General Kyrylo Budanov hopes that at the end of the war, Ukraine will finally be able to deploy a fully functional air defense system and seek international guarantees that will ensure its peace.
